Bytes of Knowledge Begins eLearning Division, Joining Forces with Duthie Learning
Move enhances company’s services offerings and value proposition
“Nashville, TN --- In a move that will significantly expand and complement the current online offerings and technology services of bytes of knowledge, the company acquired the custom eLearning development business and talent from Duthie Associates, Inc. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
“Joining the business with bytes of knowledge ensures eLearning will have the resources to take full advantage of the assets we’ve built over the years,” said founder Bob Duthie. “I am confident this was the right move for our company and look forward to working with Julie & Charles and the entire bytes of knowledge team to make this an easy transition, both for our clients as well as the team we will bring with us.”
“Although Bob Duthie, and Julie May, CEO and principal of bytes of knowledge, have known each other for over 30 years, the deal only took a few short months from inception to finalization.
“As soon as Bob approached me, I knew this move would fit perfectly into our ongoing strategy of being a one-stop shop technology solution for our clients”, said Julie May, CEO and principal of bytes of knowledge. “In addition to the great comfort level we have with each other personally, this just makes good business sense. Our customer base is similar, yet complementary, and we will be able to easily integrate their solutions into the software we develop for clients. The eLearning talent addition to our company provides the expertise to easily integrate training and video on the Internet as we develop web applications for our clients.
“Joining bytes of knowledge will be Garry Hornbuckle, as director of eLearning, and Nancy Bass, as lead visual artist of eLearning. Andrew Duthie will provide continuity of account management as we get introduced to long standing Duthie Learning clients and to ensure past clients requiring updates and maintenance are transitioned smoothly. Bob Duthie will take an active position as chief learning officer with bytes of knowledge to provide support and consulting, leveraging his 30 years in Nashville and decades of business experience.
“Both firms have offered services to many Middle Tennessee businesses, but the footprint of bytes of knowledge will now expand with existing eLearning clients in cities such as Chicago and Washington D.C. Duthie has specialized in the development of custom, interactive eLearning and marketing presentations, while bytes of knowledge offers custom application development, Internet design, including ecommerce, and development of online marketing solutions.
